Participants are invited to contribute to efforts towards building industry-driven standards to improve mining efficiencies, safety and productivity. The Global Mining Standards and Guidelines Workshop will highlight first-year achievements by the MSGC, and explore opportunities to increased stakeholder involvement to create standards and best practices meeting common challenges mining companies face globally.
Modules will be in the format of focus groups, lead by Working Group leaders. The priority is to collect feedback from stakeholders, and confirm the next steps for project development.

Introduction: MSGC 2012 highlights and Working Group matrix
Module 1: Mining-related ISO technical committees – what’s coming down the pipeline
Module 2: Operational Safety and Risk Management: building corporate safety guidelines best practices and standard leading indicators guidelines
Module 3: Underground Mining: targeting common challenges of moving data through the entire underground mine
Module 4: Asset Management and Operations: building standard industry KPIs, data definitions and terminology with a view to defining information needs from on and offboard systems by management
Module 5: Onboard Data and Access: uniting Operators, OEMs and OTMs to a mutual goal; building a data dictionary; defining processes for the future
Module 6: Onboard Technology and Connectivity: defining a connectivity standard for communication with onboard devices for mobile mining equipment
Module 7: Situation Awareness: creating a common user interface for large shovels – next steps
Discussion: confirming key priorities, structure, next steps
