GMSG is offering a member-exclusive, two-day facilitator training workshop, designed to provide attendees with the skills to lead group discussions and panels. The professional development program will present a balanced blend of formal lectures and exercises designed to challenge and improve group performance through effective facilitation processes.
Skills developed in the program are directly transferable to the attendee’s workplace. They will hone their abilities as team leaders, allowing them to work more effectively. Workshop learning objectives include:
- Defining the role of facilitator
- Facilitating group outcomes and recognizing the critical success factors for effective meetings
- Learning tools and techniques for collecting and sorting information from all group members; decision-making and achieving agreement
- Conducting meetings in a more efficient manner to produce desired results through management of content, process and structure techniques
Elizabeth Stroud, Director of Discovery Learning Training and Development Services, is the designer of the program and will be onsite to work with participants. Discovery Learning specializes in adult learning principles and interactive training practices. Stroud has worked extensively with the global mining and resource sector for more than 25 years, and is guiding the development of GMSG’s workshops and group facilitation program.
